Koeman: We played defensive; Morocco outperformed Sweden
Dutch national team coach Ronald Koeman clarified that his defensive strategy against Morocco, which involved deploying five defenders, was aimed at increasing the chances of victory rather than out of fear of the opponent. Despite the defeat on penalties 3-2 after a 1-1 draw, Koeman affirmed that he believes the approach was correct and that he would use the same tactic if given the opportunity to replay the match. Following Morocco's qualification to the round of 16 to face Canada, Koeman is looking ahead to his future with the Dutch national team, assessing performance and plans.
