This article discusses the undisclosed budgets of football clubs in the UAE Pro League, where budgets vary significantly between clubs. Some competitive clubs have budgets reaching up to 250 million AED, while others operate with much lower figures, around 30-60 million AED. Funding sources are diverse, including support from royal families and governments, revenue from sponsorships and TV broadcasting rights, and prize money ranging from 5 to 60 million AED. Commercial support comes from various channels, with a substantial focus on spending for the first team as well as youth teams. The disclosure of budgets is often kept confidential due to concerns over transparency and privacy, with officials and analysts refusing to reveal exact figures. They emphasize that expenditures align with club ambitions and priorities, and that a larger budget does not automatically guarantee success—smaller clubs can achieve good results through effective management. Additionally, the national budget for the Pro League is approximately 1.641 billion AED, with government and sports council support allocating between 60 and 70 million AED per club. This spending covers incentives and operational expenses for matches. Budget sizes also vary across other Arab leagues.
