The participation of Chinese women's basketball player Li Yueru in the Women's World Cup held in Berlin was affected after she lost her passport while sending it by mail from the United States, preventing her from traveling to compete in the tournament. The Chinese federation explained that the passport could not be found before the registration deadline, which led to her exclusion from the competition. Li, who plays for the Dallas Wings and was among the top scorers of the team at the Paris 2024 Olympics, expressed her regret at not being able to be with her teammates, while thanking the federation and the authorities who assisted in the search.
