French football clubs achieved a record revenue of 1.3 billion euros from summer transfer sales in 2026. Paris Saint-Germain topped the list with 334 million euros, highlighted by the sale of Bradley Barcola to Liverpool for 125 million euros and Gonçalo Ramos to Milan for 74 million euros. Lille ranked third with revenues of 162 million euros, most of which came from the transfer of their Moroccan star, Ayoub Boudadi, to Manchester City for 95 million euros. This high figure has raised questions about how much French football is affected by financial pressures, with some interpreters attributing it to declining broadcast rights revenue and French clubs capitalizing on the activity of wealthy English clubs, which rely heavily on acquisitions and transfers to strengthen their teams.
