Ibaynez Criticizes Al-Ahli Fans
Roger Ibanez, a defender for Al-Ahli Saudi FC, expressed his dissatisfaction with the team’s fans after their major 5-0 victory over Riyadh in the Roshn League. Ibanez criticized the fans' actions, which included booing Ukrainian midfielder Artem Bondarinko, and believed that the fans were playing against the team rather than supporting it. He stated that negative behavior affects the morale within the stadium. These comments come amid tension regarding continued fan protests against the signing of Bondarinko and their rejection of the departure of former sporting director Ruy Pedro Baraz.
