French driver Pierre Gasly from the Alpine team unexpectedly secured the pole position in the qualifying session for the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, marking his first such achievement in his professional career after 191 attempts. Gasly will start from the front row alongside British driver George Russell of Mercedes, while Australian Oscar Piastri from McLaren qualified third, ahead of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton. Gasly becomes the first French driver to achieve pole position since 1997, and his first victory in a Formula 1 race was also at this same circuit in 2020. This result is a significant milestone in his nine-year career, boosting his chances of achieving more accomplishments in the upcoming race.
