Rony's chance of a red missed at Chelsea
Wayne Rooney, a Manchester United legend, described Arsenal defender Gabriel as being "very lucky" not to have been sent off during his team's match against Chelsea, which Arsenal won 2-1 in the Premier League. The incident occurred in the fifth minute of the game, when Gabriel kicked Chelsea goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez in the head, injuring the keeper and requiring medical attention, amid anger from Chelsea players. Despite chaos in the penalty area and the absence of VAR for the referee, no red card was issued. Rooney confirmed that replays show Gabriel kicked strongly and raised his leg, making him fortunate to remain on the pitch.
