During the match between Al Hilal and Neom in the Saudi Pro League, an own goal was scored by Al Hilal’s Senegalese defender Kalidou Koulibaly. He inadvertently put the ball into his own net in the 15th minute of the game, resulting in the opening goal for Neom. This marks the seventh own goal ever scored against Al Hilal in the history of the Saudi Premier League, and the first this season. Previous competitions have seen six other own goals scored against Al Hilal by different players, including Abdullah Zory, Ahmed Sharaahi, Mohammed Al-Breik, Bafetimbi Gomis, Ali Bijin, and Robin Nivesh. This pattern highlights that players frequently score own goals against Al Hilal over various seasons, making it a recurring issue in the Saudi League.
