A promotional campaign by Adidas featuring an Israeli soldier who lost his leg sparked widespread outrage among Palestinians. The soldier was used in an advertisement promoting low-cost shoes for amputees. Critics argued that the ad disregarded the suffering of thousands of injured Palestinians in Gaza, who are facing a shortage of medical treatment and equipment due to the blockade and limited resources. Gaza officials noted that there are over 8,000 amputees, including more than 3,000 children, yet they face restrictions in obtaining prosthetic limbs. They called for international organizations to intervene. Calls to boycott Adidas intensified, with activists stating that the advertisement reveals a double standard in how Palestinian suffering is addressed.
