French star Ousmane Dembélé revealed his top contenders for the 2026 Ballon d'Or, naming three main favorites—two of his Paris Saint-Germain teammates, Kylian Mbappé and Harry Kane, along with Barcelona's Gvicha Kvaratskhelia. Dembélé himself ruled out being among the candidates, emphasizing that he wouldn't choose himself even if he won awards, and acknowledged that the trophy might stay within his PSG team, knowing that one of his colleagues could potentially claim it. A wide range of players are competing for the prize, including Lamine Yamal, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Nandy. The competition appears open, with an increasing list of contenders and impressive performances from participants in the recent season, especially following the 2026 World Cup, which featured standout displays.
