FIFA mandates Al Ahly to pay 357k euros
The Player Status Committee at the International Football Federation (FIFA) has ordered Al Ahly SC to pay former Swiss coach Harald Gämperli €357,500, including 5% annual interest on the dues. Gämperli, who was under a contract extending until June 2026 and was earning an annual salary of €390,000, was suspended from coaching the team in April 2025; however, the club had not officially terminated his contract. The committee confirmed that the contract remains valid despite ongoing negotiations to terminate it, and they decided that Al Ahly must pay the amount within 45 days. The coach has the right to appeal within 21 days if the payment is not made.
