CAF approves new club rules for 2026 awards
The African Football Confederation (CAF) Federation Committee has approved fundamental amendments to the regulations of African clubs to facilitate player participation. These include allowing players to participate with more than one club during the season and increasing the maximum number of registered players to 40, with the possibility of replacing four players during the final registration period. Additionally, the committee has set dates and the hosting of important events such as the CAF Awards Ceremony in Lagos on December 7, 2026, and the General Assembly in Nigeria on November 21, 2026. Furthermore, two major tournaments will be organized in November and December 2026: the Women's African Champions League and the African Beach Soccer Cup of Nations, respectively.
