Lance recovers Abdel Hamid after 48 days
Saudi international defender Saud Abdul Hamid has rejoined the Lens team lineup after a 48-day absence due to recovering from a thigh and knee injury that had affected his performance at the start of the league. He participated in team training and is beginning to regain match fitness in preparation for the upcoming encounter against Lyon in the French Ligue 1's sixth round. Currently, Lens is in a challenging position, sitting 15th with four points; it is expected that the coach will give him a few minutes in the next game, but he will not be a starter. Abdul Hamid is a former star of Al Hilal Saudi and transferred to Lens on a loan deal in August 2025, with the purchase option activated in June 2026. Since his arrival, he has appeared in 33 matches, scored four goals, and provided eight assists. He also helped the team win the French Cup this season after defeating Paris Saint-Germain.
