Europe backs unexpected candidate to replace Infantino
Opponents of Gianni Infantino are working to persuade former Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger to run in the upcoming FIFA presidential election scheduled for March 2027 in Morocco. Wenger is considered a potential candidate despite not having confirmed his candidacy yet. Currently, Wenger serves as the Head of Global Football Development at FIFA. It is also noted that Victor Montagliani does not intend to run again. Wenger managed Arsenal from 1996 to 2018, winning three English league titles and seven FA Cups with the club. He also coached Nagoya Grampus in Japan and Guingamp in France, winning the French league title and the Coupe de France.
