Ronaldo showcases Portugal to the world
Walid Regragui, the former coach of the Moroccan national team, reaffirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo, the captain of Al Nassr Saudi team, played a significant role in enhancing the international stature of Portuguese football and raising the level of players there, despite the less successful manner in which he was handled in the latter stages of his career. He pointed out that communication with Ronaldo should have been more transparent, and that the management during this period was poorly handled, which led to disagreements affecting both the club and the player. He also emphasized that comparisons between Ronaldo and Messi show that the latter enjoys greater appreciation and popularity in his home country, Argentina, while the Portuguese have been treated with less respect by the Portuguese. Additionally, there are currently disciplinary measures against Ronaldo due to conflicts with coach Jorge Jesus.
