Getafe defender challenges Yamal over Morocco
A few days ago, during a La Liga match between Barcelona and Getafe, an incident occurred involving Moroccan-born defender Lamine Yamal and Getafe defender Abdel-Karim Abarq. Abarq playfully dribbled past Yamal while pointing to his Moroccan roots, saying, "Do you want to play for Morocco?" in an attempt to provoke him over his choice to represent Spain internationally instead of Morocco. The referee did not intervene during the incident, and tensions between the players arose outside of the technical flow of the match.
