Madrid's Claims Contradicted by Match Report
Reports from the referees of the Real Madrid versus Villarreal match in La Liga have indicated that the referee issued 5 yellow cards and one red card to Real Madrid, despite the team's players committing only 8 fouls compared to Villarreal's 13 fouls and just one yellow card. The main objection from the club and fans centers on the number of yellow cards shown, as it turns out that most of these were issued for disciplinary reasons unrelated to on-field faults—including cards received by members of the technical staff, such as Nuno Da Costa. Meanwhile, the club did not object to Vinicius's red card, which, according to the rules, was justified as it resulted from a pulling of Saliba's hair, and Real Madrid's management is considering appealing it.
