Nawaf Al-Aqdidi's 2027 Asian Cup absence?
Nawaf Al-Aqidi, goalkeeper for Al-Nassr and the Saudi national team, has an opportunity to participate in the 2027 Asian Cup following an injury sustained during his participation in the Gulf Cup of Nations "Gulf 27." Al-Aqidi has decided to undergo elbow surgery in London, with two options before him: either return after four weeks with a short rehabilitation period, risking the possibility of pain recurrence, or proceed with surgery that requires a longer recovery time, which could prevent him from participating in the tournament scheduled to be held in Saudi Arabia from January 7 to February 5, 2027. The possibility of hosting the tournament may be delayed or moved outside of Saudi Arabia due to current circumstances in the Kingdom.
