Real Madrid Player Faces Probe Over Dog Attack
The Madrid court is preparing to try Real Madrid player Frenchman Ferland Mendy on December 21st, on charges of causing injuries after his dogs attacked a 17-year-old boy, resulting in serious wounds and the death of one of the dogs. The prosecution accuses Mendy of negligence for failing to properly supervise his dogs after they escaped from his farm, and for not securing them legally, including not providing an electronic chip or rabies vaccinations. The prosecution also seeks a fine of 1,200 euros and total compensations amounting to 5,700 euros for the victims. Mendy could face further penalties depending on the court's ruling as it reviews details of the incident, which occurred in early 2023, involving injuries to the boy and damage to other dogs.
