Svitolina and Monfils part after 5 years
Ukrainian star Elena Svitolina, the top-ranked tennis player in her country, has announced her decision to split from her French husband Ghil Monfils after five years of marriage, highlighting the profound impact of the war in Ukraine on her mental well-being. She confirmed that the internal struggle, including anxiety, insomnia, and a loss of identity, led her to this decision despite her love for and support from her husband. She pointed out that the separation is necessary for her to regain her psychological balance, and that they will remain connected through their daughter Sky, with respect for the family's privacy.
