Mourinho warns Vinícius on starting spot
Real Madrid coach José Mourinho confirmed that players' performance is the standard that determines their position in the team, emphasizing that Vinicius Junior does not have immunity guaranteeing him a guaranteed starting spot at all times. He clarified that a player's standing depends on their performance in matches, not on their fame or years with the club. However, Mourinho decided that Vinicius will start in the upcoming UEFA Champions League match against RB Leipzig, where he will play on the left wing, amidst competition from Ivorian Yvan Diumandi, who delivered a notable performance. Vinicius has been suspended for four matches by the Spanish federation following a recent red card, which prevents him from participating in the upcoming El Clásico against Barcelona, although he is allowed to play in Champions League matches. Mourinho continues to defend Vinicius, affirming that the player is making efforts to regain his form, and that the team needs to continually improve both individually and collectively.
