Dortmund Honors Fans Who Leave Phones Behind
Borussia Dortmund has announced that it will reward fans who avoid using their phones during matches by offering prizes such as signed jerseys from players and gift cards. This initiative is part of a plan to encourage supporters to reduce filming moments with their phones. The measure is a response to the growing trend of content recording in stadiums and aims to focus on the collective experience. Fans can activate a "Fan Mode" through the club’s app to monitor and limit phone usage during the game, with a points system that incentivizes not unlocking their devices. This initiative is part of broader efforts to address the impact of social media on the atmosphere in stadiums. Other German clubs, such as Hertha Berlin and Dynamo Dresden, have adopted similar measures to ensure a more focused and comfortable spectator experience.
