Al-Sanbi sets two firsts
Al Ahli goalkeeper Abdulrahman Al-Sanbi set two unwanted records after being sent off against Al Shabab in the 12th round of the Saudi Pro League on Friday: he received the first red card of his professional career and became the first goalkeeper to be sent off in a league meeting between the two sides since the competition began in 2008. Referee Majed Al-Shamrani showed Al-Sanbi a straight red in the 22nd minute after he handled the ball outside the penalty area. His dismissal brought the number of red cards in Al Ahli–Al Shabab league meetings to 10, split evenly between the teams.
