The organizing committee for the Delma Historic Race for 60-foot traditional sailing boats has tentatively set next Wednesday as the start date, with Thursday as a backup, depending on weather and sea conditions. It said the final date will be announced tomorrow, Sunday, after reviewing updates from the National Center of Meteorology, with participants’ safety taking priority. Captains were urged to wait for the announcement before heading to Delma Island. The race covers about 68 nautical miles (125 kilometers), and its total prize money is AED 30 million.
