Imam Ashour was left out of Al Ahly’s squad for the match against Arab Contractors for the second consecutive game, and the fourth time in nine league matches this season. Football director Wael Gomaa said the decision was a “technical choice” by coach Hussein Ammouta. His absence comes amid disciplinary tensions and disagreements over renewing his contract and managing his affairs, following earlier incidents—including missing the squad’s trip for an African match and receiving a two-week suspension. The report says a departure remains possible if a suitable financial offer comes in, as Al Ahly is seeking to recoup at least about $3 million, the amount it paid to sign him from Denmark’s Midtjylland.
