The full name of Barcelona and Spain star Lamine Yamal is Lamine Yamal Nasraoui Ebana. “Nasraoui” is his father’s surname and “Ebana” his mother’s, while Lamine and Yamal are both part of his given name. His parents chose the names to honour two friends who had helped them financially during a difficult time. They had promised to name their son after the friends if they had a boy. Lamine means “trustworthy,” and Yamal means “beauty.”
