Lamine Yamal said his Moroccan and Equatorial Guinean roots helped shape his personality: he attributes his boldness to his Moroccan heritage, and his sense of humor and love of fun to his mother, who is from Equatorial Guinea. He recounted how his paternal grandmother, Fatima Nasraoui, arrived in Spain by bus, and the rest of the family later followed. His parents met in Barcelona, before he went on to break into the club’s first team. Since the start of the season, Yamal has contributed to 23 goals in 14 appearances for Barcelona, scoring 11 and setting up 12.
