Algeria coach Ibrahim Hamdani left goalkeeper Luca Zidane out of his 26-man squad for the third and fourth rounds of qualifying for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, opting instead for three goalkeepers who regularly play for their clubs: Oussama Benbot, Melvin Mastil and Abdelatif Ramdane. Defender Rafik Belghali was called up for the two matches against Togo on November 14 and 16, while Rayan Aït-Nouri was omitted. Hamdani said his selections were based on sporting considerations and that the door to the national team remained open, provided players follow the team’s rules and get playing time.
