CONCACAF has adopted a new format for the Gold Cup starting with the 2027 edition. The group stage will expand from four groups of four teams to two groups of eight, with each team playing four matches instead of three. The top four teams in each group will advance to the quarter-finals, after which the knockout rounds will be single-match ties. The tournament will run from June 17 to July 11, 2027, with the host country yet to be announced. Fifteen of the 16 teams will qualify through the CONCACAF Nations League and the preliminary round, while Saudi Arabia will participate as a guest. The draw will take place on April 8, 2027, and Mexico will enter as defending champions.
