Salah gesture sparks row
Mohamed Salah sparked controversy after posting a photo of himself making a victory sign and sticking out his tongue following Trabzonspor’s 2–0 win over Alanyaspor. Followers linked the timing of the post to Hossam Hassan’s departure as Egypt coach and Ali Maher’s appointment as his replacement. Salah scored his team’s second goal, taking his tally to nine in the Turkish league and 11 in all competitions. He did not comment on Hassan’s departure, but the photo brought renewed attention to the tension between the two, which escalated after Salah was substituted in the match against Angola and later missed several national-team games.
