Scaloni updates on Messi's World Cup readiness
Argentina's national team coach Lionel Scaloni confirmed that the physical condition of team captain Lionel Messi is reassuring. He indicated that Messi suffered muscle fatigue rather than a serious injury, which boosts hopes of his participation in the 2026 World Cup, set to be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. This comes after public concern over Messi's injury during his match against Inter Miami, with the current priority being his full rehabilitation before the tournament. Messi, who is 38 years old, is considered one of the candidates to take part in his last World Cup, following his victory with Argentina in 2022.
