Danish goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, who plays for Scottish club Celtic, announced his retirement from football after suffering a serious shoulder injury during a Europa League match. He confirmed that he will not renew his contract with the club in June and that he will not return to the high level of performance due to a shoulder injury that required surgery, thus ending his sporting career after a distinguished journey featuring more than 120 international matches, playing for Leicester City, and winning the Premier League title.
