Kaspar Shamihel retires over injury
Danish goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel announced his retirement from football due to a serious shoulder injury he sustained last February, following a failed surgical attempt to save his career. He played 120 matches with the Danish national team and was part of the Leicester City team that won the English Premier League title in 2016 and the FA Cup five years later, before ending his career at Celtic in Scotland. His father, Peter Schmeichel, is considered one of the greatest goalkeepers in history.
