Ireland coach urges players to win the conflict
The Ireland national team coach, Hemer Halgremson, confirmed that winning the Nations League match against Israel is their response to political stances. This comes amidst widespread political and popular pressure calling for a boycott of the Israeli team due to the occupation in Gaza. The coach made passionate statements, urging the players to focus on achieving victory, while emphasizing that politicizing sports is unfair. He also expressed hope to keep Dublin Stadium as the venue for the matches. The Irish Football Association is under pressure to boycott, amid fears of relocating the games to a neutral stadium.
