When does the case conclude and the public right lawsuit proceed

Waiving a complaint does not always guarantee the end of a criminal case, and its outcomes vary depending on the type of crime and the nature of the right involved. In crimes that concern the community, such as murder and theft, the prosecution does not cease entirely when the victim waives their personal right; rather, the Public Prosecution continues to pursue the suspect in order to protect society and prevent the recurrence of criminal acts. Additionally, while waiving may lead to a reduction in the sentence, it does not halt the pursuit of the public right, and the complainant cannot withdraw their complaint after it has been submitted to the judiciary. Therefore, it is advisable to understand the implications of waiving before making a decision and to consult with a lawyer to determine the legal consequences specific to each type of case.
