President Ahmed al-Shir issued a decree appointing Mustafa Khalil Abdi, also known as Mazlum Abdi, as an advisor to the Syrian Arab Republic's presidency. This move reflects significant shifts in the file of northern and eastern Syria. It follows Abdi's announcement, who was the commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), that the forces had completed their mission as an independent entity and were being integrated into Syrian state institutions. The decree did not specify Abdi's new powers or the particular file he is handling, but his appointment aligns with steps toward integrating the SDF into the state and transforming it into an official institution.
