In the Italian village of Santo Stefano di Sisanio, authorities have launched an exceptional program to attract new residents in order to combat demographic decline. The population there is only 115, with a high proportion of elderly residents and few young people. The initiative offers financial incentives of up to 44,000 euros per individual, including annual grants, support for starting businesses, and affordable housing with minimal rent, all aimed at revitalizing the village's economic and social activities. Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 40. The program also focuses on supporting jobs related to tourism and local services. So far, approximately 1,500 expressions of interest have been received, despite challenges related to infrastructure and transportation during winter.
