German police have confirmed the arrest of three teenagers, including two Syrian youths (aged 17 and 19), following an attempted scam using the "fake police officer" method targeting elderly residents in the cities of Olching and Germering in Bavaria. The case began when a married elderly couple received a call from someone claiming to be a police officer, who tried to convince them to hand over their jewelry. They were led to place their jewelry in a flower pot outside their home. Subsequently, police stopped a car in the Dachau area that was carrying the suspects, and the investigation is also linked to another scam attempt in Germering. The suspects, who hold Syrian and German nationalities, have been placed in detention or under supervision depending on their age, as investigations continue to determine whether there are other related incidents.
