Nepal rescue teams successfully evacuated a German family from a flood-stricken area in the Himalayan mountains and airlifted them to a military camp in Batra Bazaar. The family consists of father Manuel Munch, his wife, and their two children. They were planning a mountain trek when the flood struck the region. According to the father’s account, they managed to alter their course and save their lives after being threatened with death. The fate of several other Germans remains unknown. It is noted that the death toll from the disaster in Nepal has exceeded 538, with over a thousand people reported missing. Rescue efforts continue, but they are complicated by the ongoing heavy rains and the risk of new flood waves.
