The authorities of Ceuta warn that the city is on the brink of collapse due to the large influx of migrants, with the number of people who entered it surpassing 72,000 by the end of July. About 5,000 of them remain inside the city, including 1,500 minors. The Spanish government continues to enhance security measures by extending wave barriers and activating maritime and aerial surveillance to control the situation, which the authorities have described as critical and approaching catastrophe. They have also called on the central government for swift intervention, emphasizing that the city has lost stability amid rising tensions, as well as acts of violence and vandalism. At the same time, efforts are underway to improve the management of migrant flows by establishing new centers and increasing financial and logistical resources to support operations and facilitate organized reception of migrants.
