A case of two workers dying at Frankfurt Airport in Germany has been reported after they contracted malaria. It is believed that the infection was transmitted to them by a mosquito that arrived on an airplane. Six airport employees were diagnosed with "airport malaria," two of whom died, while the other four recovered. "Airport malaria" is a rare condition that occurs when a mosquito survives a flight from an infected area and transmits the disease within the airport. Authorities are currently investigating to determine the source of the infection. The Fraport company has implemented preventive measures such as installing mosquito traps and conducting genetic analysis of insects. Emphasis is being placed on early diagnosis and treatment to prevent serious complications.
