August sees 21,971 flights over Syria

The air traffic through Syrian airspace experienced continuous growth in August 2026, reaching a total of 21,971 aircraft crossing. This represents an 8.2% increase compared to July, which recorded 20,315 aircraft. This growth reflects an improvement in the utilization of Syrian airspace and a resurgence of its presence within the regional airway network, with August's figures exceeding those of June by over 40%. The General Authority of Civil Aviation is working on developing the air navigation system and enhancing operational efficiency to strengthen Syria's position as a regional air corridor in accordance with international standards.
