The discussions between the General Authority of Civil Aviation in Syria and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia focused on developing the Syrian civil aviation system and expanding cooperation in air transport. This includes benefiting from Saudi expertise in regulation and safety, enhancing national competencies, and strengthening air connectivity between the two countries. Additionally, teams from Saudi Arabia were invited to visit the Deir ez-Zor and Qamishli airports to explore air connectivity opportunities and work towards rebuilding the aviation system based on modern foundations that ensure improved governance and regulations. The aim is to increase the number of flights, open new destinations, and boost capacity.
