The Syrian Museum of Historical Collections, Bahaa Al-Masri, from the village of Hitt in the Deraa countryside, has handed over approximately 7,000 to 8,000 artifacts he collected over twenty years to the Directorate-General of Antiquities and Museums. His collection includes Ottoman coins made of gold and bronze, seals, talismans, pottery vessels, and stones representing various civilizations starting from Sumer, Assyria, and Babylon, passing through the Greek, Roman, and Islamic periods, up to the Ottoman era. The collection also features an old pistol, coins from different eras, fossils, and glass shards. While expressing his sadness at losing these items, he trusts that they will be preserved safely for display to the public, emphasizing that they constitute an important part of the region's history.
