Syrian security forces have succeeded in apprehending former Major General Muhammad Ali DRAGHIM, a former leader in the regime's forces, on charges related to issuing orders to fire on protesters in Rif Damascus during the 2011 protests. Investigations have revealed evidence of his involvement in repression operations that included shootings and widespread arbitrary arrests, as well as overseeing raids that resulted in numerous detentions. Draghim had previously faced international accusations and sanctions, including measures from the European Union and the United Kingdom, due to his role in the crackdown. Currently, he is being investigated further to gather additional evidence and will be referred to the judiciary to take the necessary legal actions.
