President Syrian Ahmed Al-Shar'a has issued a decree establishing exceptional facilitations for university students during the 2025-2026 academic year. These include provisions for advancing to higher years and participating in supplementary exams. The decree permits transferring a student to a higher academic year if they have completed a maximum of 8 courses, with exceptions for faculties of Architecture and Fine Arts. Additionally, students in preparatory (pre-university) year may be transferred to the second year if they have completed up to 6 courses. The facilitation also allows final-year students who have completed 8 courses to be eligible to take re-examinations in these courses based on their results from the second semester of the 2025-2026 academic year.
