The power outages are due to a sudden failure on the 230 kV high-voltage transmission line between the Al-Kiswah and Sheikh Miskin areas in Syria, which resulted in a loss of electricity in the provinces of Suwayda and Daraa. The cause of the failure and the repair timeline have not yet been determined, as maintenance teams are conducting inspections and identifying the causes. However, security approval has not yet been granted for their entry into the affected western axis of Suwayda, which has been impacted by recent clashes between the National Guard and government forces, leading to power outages in multiple areas within the province.
