The news highlighted Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz's visit to Mount Hermon within Syrian territory, during which he confirmed that Israeli forces will not withdraw from the area and will remain stationed there to protect Israeli borders and counter any regional or jihadist threats. Syria considered this a violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Syrian Foreign Ministry responded to the visit, describing it as an provocative step, warning that Israeli incursions and attacks inside Syria threaten regional security and stability. These developments come amid ongoing Israeli escalation of military presence in the region, despite Syria's calls and the international community's demands to halt such violations.
