Agencies foil ISIS plot in Rif Damascus
The Syrian authorities announced the foiling of an ISIS plot targeting a police patrol in Rural Damascus, through a joint preemptive security operation carried out by the General Intelligence Directorate and the Internal Security Forces. The operation resulted in the arrest of two individuals suspected of belonging to an ISIS cell and the seizure of an explosive device in their possession. Investigations are ongoing to uncover the suspects' connections and details of the plan, following previous security operations targeting cells affiliated with the organization in Homs and Damascus countryside earlier this October.
