Strange texts in Damascus
A number of users of Turkey’s Turkcell network in Damascus received roaming messages welcoming them to Israel, prompting surprise and questions about how their location had been determined. Observers suggested that their phones may have connected to Israeli networks or that there had been an error in identifying the roaming network. However, no technical evidence or official explanation from the company was available, and neither the number of recipients nor the reason the messages appeared was known.
